Use an Electric Toothbrush For Sparkling Teeth Philadelphia, PA

Cleaning the teeth while undergoing orthodontics is difficult. Patients of all ages complain about how hard it is to brush around brackets and wires, and trying to floss seems almost impossible. Those with braces must continue to maintain oral health because braces can harbor damaging bacteria that can ruin your smile. If you have taken the time and put the money toward improving your smile, you sure don’t want to waste either of those by not cleaning your teeth well. Using an electric toothbrush can be a fantastic tool for you to maintain good oral health and make your teeth sparkle.

Using an electric toothbrush while wearing braces is not much different than using a manual toothbrush. Yet, the benefits of using an electric toothbrush can truly improve your mouth’s health and appearance. Most electric toothbrushes provide compatibility with your braces, offering different modes and brush heads. One thing that we like about certain electric toothbrushes is if a toothbrush offers a “sensitive mode.” This mode is especially useful for those first few days after getting braces or after having your braces adjusted, and your mouth is sore. The “sensitive mode” allows you to clean your teeth thoroughly while also offering a gentle cycle until your teeth are not as sore.

Electric toothbrushes are considered to be the best option in getting rid of plaque and keeping your oral hygiene at an optimal level while wearing braces. Because food particles are easily trapped around the brackets and under wires, an electric toothbrush’s pulsating helps to loosen and remove any particles. The pulses of an electric toothbrush also offer significantly higher plaque removal than a manual brush.

At Broad Street Braces, we want to encourage all of our patients to maintain optimal oral hygiene while they are undergoing orthodontic treatment. If you are interested in an electric toothbrush, please speak with anyone in our office. We will be happy to recommend one for you.

I am pleased with this Orthodontist location because they are very prompt with appointments. It's never a long wait. The staff is kind and willing to fix misunderstandings quickly. They actually play relaxing music in the office. My favorite staff member is Trinh because she answers questions gracefully. Trinh always greets me with a smile. Glad I chose this dental office.

My mom received THE BEST service here. Consultations & visits were a breeze & the staff was always so kind. Their bilingual employee, Sara, was very helpful because my mom only speaks Spanish.
